This is a really short post about the annoying error in Sitecore Commerce – Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.
And no, it’s not the error that Sitecore recently released a hotfix for: Sitecore Commerce 8.2.1 issues with Windows 10 Fall Creators update (build 1709)
After tons of hair pulling I finally found the reason. It turns out that I had the wrong SQL connection in Partitions(in the Commerce Server Manager):
Check your connection’s and all will be well 🙂
